North Adams Gallery Space
|
The full appreciation of sculpture is the perception of form in three
dimensions. Despite its global accessability, the internet cannot provide
this. The window installations of sykesgallery/North Adams provide a needed
balance. They are located in the historic Flatiron Building on the corner of
Eagle and Church Streets
in North Adams, Massachusetts. The Victorian
cornice brackets of the building provided the inspiration for the design of
the installations. Two sculptures are featured monthly on motorized bases,
allowing sidewalk viewers a complete three dimensional experience. A five
mile radius includes such aesthetic venues Mass MoCA, The Contemporary
Artists Center, The Williams College Museum of Art, The Clark Art Institute,
and the Williamstown Theater Festival.
